Students can rap their way to $5,000 in free tuition

Local students have a shot at winning $5,000 in postsecondary tuition through a rap video contest about higher education.

The provincewide contest visits St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School (1045 Upper Paradise) on Wednesday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Eastgate Square (75 Centennial Parkway North) on Thursday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Students will rap on video about their education goals, with a chance at winning $5,000 towards their postsecondary education in an online vote of the video performers.

The contest is part of the Ontario colleges' provincewide advertising campaign promoting higher education. Ontario's 24 public colleges are running advertisements promoting the message "It's all about M.E.", encouraging students to pursue higher education options that best suit their interests and strengths.
