Three Mohawk teams in the running for provincial and national titles

Three Mohawk teams will be vying for championship titles over the next two weeks.

The women's basketball squad will be off to Niagara College in Welland this Thursday for the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Women's Basketball Championship. The Mountaineers will play the Lambton Lions of Sarnia in their opening game Thursday at 8:00 pm. The tournament runs until Saturday. Also in the championship are Humber, St. Clair, Fanshawe, St Lawrence (Kingston) Algonquin and host Niagara.

The Mohawk men have their OCAA Basketball Championship at Humber College from March 4 - 6. The Mountaineers meet Algonquin of Ottawa in their first game, Friday at 8 p.m.Other teams in the championship include Niagara, Sheridan, St. Lawrence, Lambton, La Cite and host Humber.

The Mohawk men's volleyball OCAA silver medalists are getting ready for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Volleyball Championship which starts March 10 at Douglas College in New Westminster BC. The Mountaineers are seeded number five and will play fourth ranked Camosun College of Victoria in their first match. Also taking part in the national event are Red Deer, St. Thomas, Fanshawe, Keyano, Limoilou and host Douglas.
