Trish Loomis appointed VP, Communications and External Affairs at Mohawk College
Trish Loomis has been appointed to the new role of Vice President, Communications and External Affairs at Mohawk College following more than a decade of experience and increasing responsibilities as a member of the Mohawk Executive Group.
Trish joined the college in 2011 as part of the special events team. In 2014, she moved into the role of Director, Office of the President, overseeing the operations and administration of the President’s Office. In March 2020, her role expanded to include the public affairs, corporate communications, and government relations portfolios, as well as the special events team and conference services.
In this new role, Trish will provide leadership and oversight of the Communications and Public Affairs teams, the Marketing team, the Board of Governors and Corporate Secretary, as well as continued oversight of administration and operations of the Office of the President.
Prior to joining Mohawk College, Trish worked in the higher education sector at various institutions, including the University of Waterloo, Old Dominion University, and American University.
Trish holds a B.A. in Drama and Speech Communications from the University of Waterloo, and an M Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the College of William and Mary. She is a Board Member for the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.
Trish assumed her new role on November 29.
