Unique below deck orientation in Hamilton Harbour for Mohawk College technology students

Fredricton

NEW: The Hamilton Spectator has this story about the HMCS Fredericton's visit to Hamilton this week.

As part of their orientation to Mohawk, students in the College's Motive Power, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electrical Power programs will get a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the HMCS Fredericton docked in Hamilton Harbour.

Students will learn about the ship's electrical, communication, computer and combat systems from navy personnel. The tour offers a microcosm of the topics students will study in their technology progarms at Mohawk, says Associate Dean Jay Notay.

Students will board buses infront of the Student Centre at the Fennell Campus this Wednesday (Sept.8) and Thursday (Sept.9) at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. for the tours.
