Winter Storm Warning in Effect for Hamilton – February 2 to February 4

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for Hamilton beginning today, Wednesday, February 2 and continuing to Friday, February 4. Total snowfall accumulations of 20-30 cm are possible by Thursday night. Please use extra care and caution when travelling during winter weather conditions.

Students and employees should monitor the college’s website and social media channels for any interruptions to in-person classes and services at any of our campuses. Mohawk’s snow closure policy was updated on January 27, 2022. The updated policy states that if the campus is closed due to hazardous weather, all in-person classes and events will be cancelled. Virtual classes and services will continue. Employees who can work remotely will be expected to do so. The DBARC will be closed and all athletic activities cancelled.

If it becomes necessary to close campuses, Mohawk will make every effort to make a formal announcement by 6 a.m. for full-day closures and by 3 p.m. for midday closures. If no is announcement made, it means campuses remain open and classes will run as scheduled.
