YouTube Creator Camp coming to Mohawk

Summary

Mohawk College hosting star-studded summer YouTube Creator Camp for high school students

Mohawk is running a YouTube Creator’s Camp July 9 to 13 at the Fennell campus. The camp, run by SURGE Mohawk’s Entrepreneurship Hub and the first of its kind in Ontario, will give students the opportunity to learn from some of Canada’s top YouTube talent including VintageBeef, NELK, Mike on MUCH and Andrew Huang.

Over five days, students in Grades 9 to 12 will get first-hand knowledge on social media influencing, create video content and gain practical advice on how to turn a hobby into a career.

The camp costs $375 and includes digital entrepreneurship training, master classes with social influencers, meals and a field trip. In partnership with the Industry Education Council of Hamilton and the M.I.G.H.T.Y. Entrepreneurship Program, students will also learn entrepreneurial skills to help launch and manage their business.

Parents will be invited to a student showcase on Monday July 16th with guest speaker Brittlestar (Stewart Reynolds) a master creator with a global fanbase of a million followers.
