ECE student creates online resource for young families while staying at home

Madison Ladd, in her final semester in Early Childhood Education, wanted to help parents support their young children during the COVID-19 crisis.

Madison created an online resource for families to follow along, with the goal of engaging and nurturing children's growth and development from 1 to 6 years old. "I decided to make a presentation outlining some fun ways to keep your family entertained while everyone is home together," she posted in comments with a Facebook video introduction

Her tutorial, called Let's Make the Best Out of this Difficult Time, takes parents through a series of 10 fun activities for families to enjoy. In the final activity, Madison encourages everyone to take on the 30-day Happiness Challenge.

Sounds like a good challenge for us all to take on.

Looking back as she finishes off her last semester in college, Madison added, "I really loved the Early Childhood Education Program at Mohawk and would recommend it to people who want to work with kids."
