High school students talk careers in science and technology at Let's Talk Science event

More than 800 high school students visited Mohawk College's Fennell Campus on Friday to learn about how science and technology can be the foundation for a successful business.

Mohawk was host to Let's Talk Science's Innovation and Entrepreneurship event, an award-winning national program that uses interactive presentations to show high school students how young entrepreneurs built successful careers in science and technology. The entrepreneurs' presentations were followed by breakout sessions where students worked with facilitators from Let's Talk Science and Mohawk College to brainstorm real-life problems and explore how science, technology, engineering and mathematics can be used to develop solutions. At one session, students built and tested miniature windmills to see which design was the most efficient.
