Putting community back into community gardens - In the News

communitygarden2016-2.jpgAfter two years of being shut down or limited due to coronavirus restrictions, community gardeners on the Mountain are eager to get digging again.

“I think people have been waiting for their chance to come outside and get their hands in the dirt,” said Ashley Packer, sustainable food systems co-ordinator at Mohawk College, who oversees the community garden on the south side of the Fennell campus. “We have about 50 plots here and they are used by just over 300 people.”
