Wallace sculpture 1Mohawk College hosts a celebration tomorrow (3 p.m. in iWing at the Fennell Campus) to mark the reinstallation of Educational Experiment by the late George Wallace. The steel sculpture, which features an administrator, caretaker, scholar and academic supporting a student who is spreading her wings, was first installed outdoors at Mohawk in 1969. Corrosion forced the dismantling of the sculpture for safety reasons. The Wallace Conservation Committee led efforts to restore the sculpture as a collection of archeological fragements. Educational Experiment, together with a second George Wallace sculpture, are now on display indoors in a learning commons for students.
